Last Friday night I braved the elements and trucked it (literally) into the Burchfield Penney Art Center to do some school-related stuff for the openings of two great exhibits.
The bigger of the two, by Bruce Jackson, was breathtaking - specifically because of how the exhibit was installed. The Burchfield has some gorgeous exhibit spaces and the designers and curators really took advantage of the height on offer.
I really wish I had taken some more photos of the watercolors. The artist, Ellen Steinfield, doesn’t paint your typical watercolors (she also does these really funky sculptures). Instead, her pieces are vibrant and really gorgeous! I would kill to have one over my bed!
Go take a look at some great art at the Burchfield. You won’t regret it!
